Bada Valley: An Archeological Haven in Lore Lindu

Lore Lindu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, encompasses a colossal 2,180 square kilometers. A journey through Lore Lindu is an encounter with the untamed beauty of Sulawesi's heartland, and it serves as an excellent prelude to your exploration of Bada Valley's revered antiquity.

Trekking through the valleys reveals more mysterious stones that you will encounter: dolmen sites that were formerly used as cemeteries by the prehistoric inhabitants. The landscape is dotted with these prehistoric tombs, lending it a sense of solemn significance. Some of the ancient megaliths in Bada Valley reach heights of up to four meters, are scattered throughout the verdant landscape. The megaliths are thought to have been built at least as early as the 14th century and have imposing and mysterious features, though historians and scholars are still unsure of their exact function.

Experience the rich history of Bada Valley by going on a guided trek that will take you to these secret sanctuaries.
