Welcome to Labuan Bajo. Upon your arrival at Labuan bajo airport, you’ll be picked up by our local guide to visit Wae Rebo traditional village with a private car that takes about 6-7 hours car ride. Along the winding road, you will be offered scenic view of rice field and local villages. Stop en route in Lembor Arrive in Dintor, check-in at small but clean home stay.
Breakfast at the lodge. After breakfast we check out from the lodge and drive to starting point to trek to Wae Rebo traditional village for about 3-4 hours journey. Wae Rebo is an old Manggaraian village, situated in pleasant, isolated mountain scenery with a unique cone-shaped houses. Upon your arrival in Wae Rebo village, you’ll be welcomed by the leader of the tribe with a small traditional ceremony. Stay overnight at a local that specially designated for visitors. Meals will be served by the villagers.
After breakfast, check out and descend via a path only used by the locals. We go up and down at a calm pace until we have descended to sea level in about three hours, to Denge village, After lunch, drive back to Labuan Bajo. En route visit Cara village where one can witness Lingko - the spider web shaped rice fields. Arrive Labuan Bajo. Overnight at hotel.
In the morning we will cruise to Rinca Island. Rinca is one of the small islands in the Komodo National Park, home of various species of wild animals such as black buffalos, pigs, deer, monkeys, the Komodo Dragon, and birds. Together with your guide and the forestry rangers, you will trekking on this island in searching for the komodo Islands and other wildlife as well as the exotic fauna. From Rinca Island we will then proceed boating to Loh Liang Station on Komodo Island, where we will do an hour trekking to Banuggulung, former feeding ground to see Komodo in wild. During our way to Banuggulung you will see other wildlife such as wild pigs, deers and various colorful birds. Return to our boat for lunch then a journey to famous 'Pink Beach' that offers a beautiful marine life of corals and colorful fish. After spending some time here for snorkeling, back to the boat then sail to Manta Point for snorkeling and swimming.
A small isolated village surrounded by tropical rainforest vegetation, Wae Rebo is not just another traditional village. The village above the clouds, as people called it, is hidden at 1.200m altitudes. Wae Rebo village is reachable by 3-hour hike from Denge, the nearest village. Hiking in the same trail as the villagers, you will meet them carrying heavy loads of food supplies they buy from local market. There is no market available in the village, the villagers need to walk for miles to buy food supply.
