After breakfast, you will be picked up and transferred to the rafting starting point in the Ayung River. The Ayung is a beautiful river in a deep canyon. The rapids are pretty mild, with a maximum of Class II. Still, the beauty of the canyon makes the trip worthwhile.
Apart from the thrills of rafting, the Ayung River offers breathtaking views of Bali's natural beauty. The river is surrounded by dense rainforest, teeming with wildlife and vibrant plant life. Along the way, you'll see intricate rock carvings, traditional Balinese sculptures, and serene waterfalls. We stop at scenic spots along the river, allowing you to take a break, enjoy the scenery, and capture some stunning photos.
After lunch, at the finish point, we drive back to your hotel with a stop at a coffee plantation. On the plantation, you will see the villagers’ activity in processing the coffee and tasting a cup of Bali Coffee.
Prepare well, dress appropriately, and bring the essentials to ensure a smooth and enjoyable trip.
A steep stair descent awaits you before you can set foot on the raft. Many tourists find this to be an unexpected aspect of their adventure. The number of steps to reach the starting point can vary, but on average, you can expect around 300 to 400 steps. These stairs are steep and can be quite challenging. The steepness of these stairs is due to the area's natural topography. The river lies at the bottom of a deep gorge; the only way to access it is by navigating these steps.
The stairs can be particularly challenging for senior tourists or those with physical limitations. Consider your physical condition before making the descent. However, don't be discouraged; many seniors have successfully navigated these stairs.
Comfortable, non-slip shoes are a must. Do not use Flip-flops or sandals, as they can make the descent more difficult and increase the risk of slipping. To ensure a safe and comfortable descent you better use a sturdy sneakers or hiking boots.
Understanding the river's difficulty levels is crucial when planning a rafting trip. Rafting rapids are classified from Class I (easy) to Class VI (extreme and dangerous). Ayung River Rafting offers Class II and III rapids, suitable for families, novice rafters, and those looking for excitement.
Class II rapids are moderate, with clear, easily navigable channels. They are perfect for beginners and families with children, providing just enough thrill without being overly challenging.
Class III rapids are more challenging, with higher waves and narrow passages that require precision and teamwork. They are ideal for those with some rafting experience looking for more adventure.
Being well-prepared can make your rafting adventure much more enjoyable. Here are some essentials to bring along:
A waterproof bag is essential for keeping personal items dry. Store your phone, camera, and other valuables in this bag to protect them from water damage.
The Balinese sun can be intense, so it is a must to use a waterproof sunscreen to protect from harmful UV rays. Reapply as necessary, especially after getting wet.
Wear quick-dry clothing to stay comfortable throughout the trip. Synthetic materials like nylon and polyester are excellent choices because they dry quickly and are lightweight. Bring a change of clothes for after the rafting trip. You'll likely get wet, and having dry clothes to change into will make the rest of your day more comfortable.
Choose footwear that stays securely on your feet, such as water shoes or sandals with straps. Avoid flip-flops, which can easily slip off and get lost in the water.
