For hiking enthusiasts, Mt. Rinjani in Lombok is a must-see destination. Towering at 3,726 meters high, this volcano is the second-highest in Indonesia and a challenging climb for even the most experienced hikers. The trek typically takes several days, but the views from the summit are simply breathtaking. You'll encounter waterfalls, hot springs, and even a crater lake along the way, making it a truly unforgettable adventure.
PROGRAM
DAY 01 : AIRPORT PICK UP - SEMBALUN LAWANG (L,D)
Pick up at the airport of Lombok, then, drive to Sembalun Lawang village driving approximately 3.5 and half hours. Staying in hotel on the foot of Mount Rinjani, accommodation at Sembalun Lawang.
During the night, the temperature may as low as 10-12 C degrees here.
DAY 02 : SEMBALUN LAWANG - CEMARA SEWU - CEMARA LIMA (B,L,D)
Today, we head from Sembalun Lawang to Tengengean and have rest at an Opened Stilt House – the native call it Berugak. From Tengengean proceed to Pade Balong Spring Water for Lunch. After lunch turn left to climb up to Cemara Sewu and Cemara Lima located at app 2,900 m above sea level.
We will overnight here tonight.
DAY 03 : CEMARA LIMA - SUMMIT - SEGARA ANAK LAKE (B,L,D)
At 02 am, we begin our ascend to the peak of the volcano for sunrise. From the top we then descend to Segara Anak Lake (this takes anywhere from 5 to 6 hours) where we can find good camping ground on the lake edge. There are hot springs nearby or you may even want to try, or fishing in the lake.
Overnight at Segara Anak Lake.
DAY 04 : SEGARA ANAK LAKE - SENARU – AIRPORT (B,L)
At the appropriate time, we begin our ascend the rim of the volcano, then, we descend down to Senaru Village, on the north side of Mt. Rinjani.
The whole ascend and the descend will need app 6 hrs time.
