Our hiking Mount Gede trip arrangements are based on a PRIVATE TRIP, a trip that won’t be shared with other tour-goers outside of your party. So you can pick the most suitable date for you.

We will pick you up in the morning in Jakarta. Then, we will drive for about 3 – 4 hours to the Cibodas area. It will be 3-4 hours of driving during the work daytime.

From Cibodas, we will start walking uphill on a paved road. At the trekking gate, it will take a few minutes to obtain a permit. Then, you will enter the forest and walk under the thick jungle canopy. You will pass through the wooden bridge, Blue Lake, and the Hot Spring River. With a regular break for rest, we will reach the Kandang Badak Camp in 4 – 5 hours.

Overnight in a tent.

After breakfast we will pack all of our stuff and start trekking to the summit of Mount Gede, It will be a 1 – 1.5 hours climb to the summit of Mount Gede. If the sky is clear, you will have a clear view to the sister mountain, Mount Pangrango summit. After taking some pictures and enjoying the beautiful scenery, you will start walk at the outskirts of the crater before trekking down to Kandang Badak. After having lunch at Kandang Badak. Rest time after the trek today.

Wake up at around 5 AM, after having a warm tea and light snack we will start trekking to the summit of Pangrango (3.019 m above sea level), will take 2 hours to climb to reach the summit. We will spend some time for taking pictures and enjoying the beauty of Mandalawangi valley. Then we will proceed trekking down to Kandang Badak. After late breakfast, and packing all of our things, we will start trekking down to Cibodas. If time permits, we can make a stop at the Cibereum waterfall. Upon arrival in Cibodas, we will continue driving to Bandung Town, the capital town of West Java.  From here, you can ride by train to Central or East Java.
