The 19 Days tour to Explore West Papua will take you to witness West Papua culture, daily life, and custom on adventurous trekking trips.
On arrival Jakarta meet our guide then transfer to hotel for overnight.
Morning free program. Afternoon check out and drives to visit Jakarta Old Town or “Kota Tua”. Kota Tua Jakarta ("Jakarta Old Town"), officially known as Kota Tua, is a neighborhood comprising the original downtown area of Jakarta, Indonesia. It is also known as Old Batavia (Dutch "Old Batavia"). Awe will also visit Fatahillah Museum; Prior to its being officially functioned as a museum, the building had been the City Hall (Stadhuis). It provides the historic background of Jakarta through a display of maps, antiquities, and furniture. (Monday & Public Holidays closed). Have cycling activities around old Batavia city accompanied by our guide. Finally transfer to airport for night flight to Jayapura. Overnight on flight.
Upon arrival at Jayapura Airport at between 07 – 08.00am, meeting service by our local staff and then assisted to fly on Trigana within 40 minutes to Wamena. On arrive at Wamena airport, transfer to your hotel the Baliem Pilamo, then proceed to visiting Napua hill & Sinatma village, drive down to the town for having lunch (own Expenses). continue to Wesaput village to see the hanging bridge, local market and surrounding. Back to your hotel overnight stay.
After breakfast transferred by car within 35 minutes – 1 hour to Sogokmo in the South of Baliem valley. Then start to have a day trek to explore some small villages of Kurima district for about 4-5 hours to Wesaput passing thru Dani sweet potatoes gardens and cross hanging bridge over Baliem river. Along the trail you will see the local people activities and enjoy the beauty scenery as well. Lunch box will be provided enroute. Dinner on personal expenses and overnight stay at hotel.
Breakfast at hotel, then we proceed to Obia Village (not too far from Jiwika). This village is one of the Dani village which is still preserved their old way of life, penis gourd, grass skirt, and round shape house (honai). Here, we will held pig feast and war dance. These 2 attractions allow you to have an insight view of the prehistoric age culture. In the past, any kind of problem can erupt a big war between tribes. It can be women, land possession, pig, etc. A war usually ends temporary until one party get loose. Today they will show us how the tribal war looks like. All adult men will come to the battlefield with their body ornaments. Spear, arrow, bone knifes are taken by them. After the war end, they will kill a pig and cooked together. Another interesting attraction of the Dani tribe. They cook the pork together with some sweet potatoes, grass, and vegetables on the hot stones. Almost no ingredients added. This cooking can take about 3 hours or so. Proceed to Anemoigi and Sumpaima villages, about 10 minutes ride from Obia, where we will see a 250 years old mummy at one of the old house here. Lunch box provided. Also, we will visit the natural cave at Wosilimo village. Stay overnight at Baliem Pilamo.
After breakfast at hotel, transfer to Wamena airport for your flight to Dekai. Dekai a small size town in the hinterland of Papua. It takes us about 40 minutes flight. Dekai is a new developed village to a small size town, after the recent self-autonomy policy in Papua. Roads, government offices, etc are started to built. Arrival in Dekai, then check in to the small hotel in Dekai. Dekai is the home of the Manimo tribe, a tribe which is quite modern now.
Transfer by Car to the small traditional harbor on Lopon village, about 1 hour of rough ride along the unpaved road. From Lopon, we will sail down to the south to Braza river, one of the largest river flowing to the south joining other river to Asmat area. All the way you will see the dense forest, peaceful surrounding, sometimes encounter the other passing by boats. On the way we may stop at the small villages which are belong to Citak Mitak tribe. This tribe built their houses on the riverside make of wood shape, with grass roof. In the past 1980’s the tribe were still naked, however, the opening of the access to their village has changed their way of clothing. Now they wear short pants, but mostly wearing no shirt. There are 2 or 3 small villages. Most of them still work as food gather, such as fishing and hunting animals. We will sail down to the south to a mid size village called Sepana.7- 8 hours required from this boat ride.
Sepana is the home of the quite modern Koroway. Beside the Koroway, some Citak Mitak tribes also livimg here. After break fast At 07.00 AM Today, we drive Motor Boat an other 2 Hours to Mabu Village,after arrive in Mabu Village we prepare all stuff then start walk to Markus village with the local porter team. Our walk will be passing through the swampy land, crossing river, some thick forest, as well as sago forest.. We spend about 3-4 hoours to reach Markus Village the 1st village of the Stone Koroway. There is single tree house with 2 families in this village. Lunch will served in the village ,then in the afternoon we will see sago processing attraction, stay over night at Bevak/ cottage with mosquito net.
After breakfast , We have another 2 hours walk this day, almost the same as the day before, we will be walking through the river bank, swamps, sago forest fro . There is a tree housel, where 3 families living the moment. If we are lucky, we may meet the hunting Stone Koroway peoples on this trek. Beside as hunter and food gatherer, the local here also manage a small garden next to their house. They plant banana, bean, and sugar cane nearby. Arrive in Haligatun Village in mid Day lunch will served in the village then after lunch you will see some attraction like Stair Tree House Mending and Fish Basket called Kamboti. Dinner and stay over night on Bevak with mosquito Net.
To Day we have full day at Haligatun Village we will see how korwai tribe build and tie the tree House stairs, tree house is a traditional house of korowai tribe according to korowai tradition and costume all family has to have and build one of tree house as dwelling place to protect family from enemies as use to be korowai tribe they do fight between village and village, also form animal attack like a snake because Korowai is a swampy area, also a good moment to comprehend daily activity of local tribe, lunch and dinner will be served in the village, stay over night in the Bevak with mosquito net.
Breakfast in the village at 07.00 Am together with team , to Day we will walk to MABUL with the local porter team. we say good bye with local porters, from Mabul we start sailing down Brasa river to Pepera village of citak Mitak tribe and it will about 2-3 hour depend on water condition in the river, lunch will served enroute , dinner will be prepare in the village, stay over night at school building.
Walk to the riverbank, then sail up to Lokbon, a 8 hours boat ride. Arrival in Lokbon, then proceed by simple car to hotel in Dekai.
Transfer to the airport, then you fly Dekai – Jayapura . Arrival at airport of Jayapura You may have a full day sightseeing tour to visit ; Sentani lake. Lunch at local restaurant (personal expenses). After lunch, continued to visit the Anthropology museum, Hamadi market and Jayapura city. Afternoon check in to the Aston Jayapura hotel.
After breakfast, transfer to airport for your flight to Sorong. Arrival in Sorong Transfer to hotel for overnight
On Transfer to Papua Paradise eco resort for overnight.

Return to Sorong and fly to Jakarta or Denpasari. Arival in Jakarta / Denpasar, transfer to Hotel for Overnight
